centdegrés designs an animated airport pop-up

Despite rigid security norms, supersonic delays in a period of tense air travel and a madly poetic design brief, Issey Miyake mandated centdegrés in spring 2016 to invent an ephemeral sales point, both surprising, immersive and beautiful that would give airport travelers the desire to soar into the air even before take-off.

The result was named “Cloud”, a pop-up cloud that recalls designer lamps, under which small alcoves present different fragrances. A light and airy space, like a stop in time and space where feminine fragrances float in glass droplets and masculine perfume drips from a delicate valve in the midst of bubble armchairs where visitors can admire the beauty above, mise-en-scène by centdegrés productions, visible on a large scrolling display screen.

Installed throughout the summer in several airports including Istanbul, Copenhagen and two Frankfurt terminals, the four « Clouds » were elected best points-of-sale. A wonderful reward for this technical and poetic prowess.
